National Associate for the Education of Young Children logo

Porter-Leath Early Head Start and Head Start programs are proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards.  NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible. To earn NAEYC Accreditation, Porter-Leath  sites went through an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. The NAEYC Accreditation system was created to set professional standards for early childhood education, and to help families identify high-quality preschools, child care centers and other early education programs.  Porter-Leath sites have been accredited since 2005.

United Way of the Mid-South logo

United Way has opened the door for Porter-Leath to promote not only itself, but also the United Way and its support for our agency. It has allowed Porter-Leath to foster a strong network across our service area and assisted in providing a strong framework with which to continue to grow.

The Child Development Associate® (CDA) Credential™ is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education (ECE) and is a crucial stepping stone on the path of career advancement in ECE.
