In November of 1993, as a result of a large fundraising campaign with the special efforts of Nancy Chase, PaLs, the Trustees, the Board of Directors and staff a new, state-of-the-art shelter facility, named Sarah’s Place (in honor of Sarah Leath) was opened to provide emergency care for neglected or abused children. Sarah’s Place is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Trained child-care workers, supervised by a professional social worker, provide a safe, secure environment for children in distress until permanent plans can be made for the child.
