Recognition for a job well done is always celebrated across the Porter-Leath team. The agency has a Make a Difference award each month, where staff nominate their colleagues for strong achievement. Over a dozen candidates are presented each month, with one selected as the Make a Difference winner. All staff at Porter-Leath have access to numerous professional development activities each month that greatly enhance the methods used to support clients and create the best-trained staff in all fields. Teachers receive ongoing coaching from their education specialist as well as the team of instructional coaches at the Early Childhood Academy. Residential Services staff are all trained in the evidence-based Aggression Replacement Training and all Cornerstone parent educators are certified by Parents as Teachers. Administrative staff all receive a minimum of two hours of training each and every month. All training is at no cost to staff.
